Recommended Gas Detection for your Industry
If an industry in the Philippines has fuel, chemicals, confined spaces, refrigeration, sewage, or combustion, gas detectors are not optional—they’re critical. Supplying the right gas detection equipment for temporary or permanent installation is a necessary part of our service to our clients, knowing that not all gas detection solutions are the same. Here are some recommendations on the types of common gasses that more often are required to be detected.
Industries:
Manufacturing & Industrial Plants
Used to detect toxic and flammable gases during production.
Recommended gases: NH₃, H₂S, CO, VOCs, combustible gases
Examples:
- Cement plants (Holcim, Republic Cement)
- Chemical & plastics factories
- Steel and metal fabrication plants
- Paint, coating, and adhesive manufacturers
Power Generation & Energy
Gas buildup can be deadly in confined equipment rooms.
Recommended gases: H₂, CH₄, CO, H₂S
Examples:
- Coal-fired power plants
- Diesel generator rooms
- Gas turbine plants
- Battery rooms (hydrogen detection)
Oil, Gas & Fuel Facilities
Gas buildup can be deadly in confined equipment rooms.
Recommended gases: Methane, propane, butane, H₂S
Examples:
- LPG refilling plants
- Fuel depots (Petron, Shell, Caltex)
- Tank farms and fuel terminals
- Gas pipeline monitoring stations
Marine, Ports & Shipyards
Gas buildup can be deadly in confined equipment rooms.
Recommended gases: Methane, propane, butane, H₂S
Examples:
- LPG refilling plants
- Fuel depots (Petron, Shell, Caltex)
- Tank farms and fuel terminals
- Gas pipeline monitoring stations
Cold Storage & Food Processing
Ammonia leaks are extremely dangerous.
Recommended gases: Ammonia (NH₃), CO₂
Examples:
- Cold storage warehouses
- Ice plants
- Meat, poultry, seafood processing
- Food manufacturing plants
Healthcare & Laboratories
Used for both safety and compliance.
Recommended gases: Oxygen, anesthetic gases, ethylene oxide
Examples:
- Hospitals (O₂ & anesthetic gas monitoring)
- Medical gas rooms
- Pharmaceutical plants
- Research laboratories
Mining & Quarrying
Essential for underground safety.
Recommended gases: Methane, CO, H₂S, O₂
Examples:
• Underground mines
• Tunneling projects
• Quarry operations
Water & Wastewater Treatment
One of the highest H₂S risk industries.
Recommended gases: Hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), methane
Examples:
• Sewer pump stations
• Wastewater treatment plants
• Septic treatment facilities
• Drainage and manhole work
Commercial Buildings & Facilities
Installed as part of life-safety systems.
Recommended gases: CO, LPG
Examples:
• Malls and supermarkets
• Hotels and condominiums
• Basement parking areas
• Boiler rooms and kitchens
Semiconductor & Electronics Manufacturing
High-purity but very dangerous gases.
Recommended gases: Silane, hydrogen, toxic specialty gases
Examples:
• Electronics assembly plants
• Semiconductor fabs
• Cleanroom facilities
Fire Safety & Emergency Response
Used for rapid hazard assessment.
Recommended gases: Multi-gas (O₂, CO, H₂S, LEL)
Examples:
- Fire departments
- Disaster response teams
- Confined space rescue operations
